Wild Woman

On this first day of the New Year I wanted to share with you a painting that my oldest daughter painted. She painted it a few months back and I just loved it. The other day she said she was going to throw it away because she didn't like it....well I snatched it up! It reminds me of SouLodge.....of a Wild Woman......and so now it is sitting on my altar in my living room so I can see it all the time.

Books that I keep close at hand......I have read The Dance of The Dissident Daughter already but I am referring back to it over and over. Women Who Run With the Wolves I haven't read yet.....but I will starting it very soon.
This is a Gaia Statue that I found on Etsy.....I just love her.....she is sitting on Mother Earth, her hands create a heart and she has a beautiful long braid down her back.

Isn't she beautiful?

Have a Magical Day......

  1. Love that painting, your daughter is talented! I can relate to her dislike of some of her own work though, my husband/friends/parents have saved a lot of my stuff from being painted over throughout the years.

I'm 3/4 through The Women Who Run With the Wolves and have at least 40 or so pages marked to reference back to time and time again. I've been absolutely enthralled and inspired by it.

  2. I'm so glad you saved that beautiful painting. It would have been a waste for it not to be loved.

I have never heard of the book Women Who Run With the Wolves, but I am going to check it out now. :)

  5. That is a great painting, and I LOVE that statue! I'd like to have one. I remember my mother reading Women Who Run With the Wolves when I was a kid. I always thought "I bet the wolves are not so much running with her as they are from her". Hahaha. My mother was not a good person.
